Huggins and Scott Football Card Auction Results

Just thought some of these sets went very low. Curious what other people's opinions are. Specifically 1951 & 1952 bowman and the 1962 & 1963 topps set. The 52 bowman small went for $750, and condition didn't seem horrible...

I saw those sets but didn't really track the outcome. Anybody here snag any of them?

I thought they all sold pretty affordable as well. I surmised they may have been a good buy just because of sheer quantity. You could have bought nearly a full run from 48 up. Unfortunately I was unable to bid because I had no moolah. The stuff for sale is a never ending stream. And the outflow of cash from said stream has my wife giving me loving looks of death. Lol

Typically large lots of cards will go for a discount as the number of collectors interested in them all might be limited. Dealers often bid on these types of lots but need to keep the price at a level they can split the lot up and make $$$$.

When I was building mainstream sets, I used to love lots like these as it was a reasonably priced way to get started with a new set instead of trying to piece it together one card at a time.

Still working on lots and lots of oddball sets so don't know how long those will end up taking! Also purchased a few of them as complete sets that I know are really, really hard to complete one card at a time: 1950 Bread for Health bread labels, 1967 Williams Advertising, 1937 Mayfair Candies

Some that I finished that were tough:
1960 7-Eleven Dallas Texans
1926 Spalding / Sports Co. of America (football subset)
1959 Bazooka
