Default Chantilly Show in October

Is anyone going to this? Dealers or collectors?

If it was in a day's drive for me I would absolutely go. With no autograph guests you should have less crowds and more room to shop. I am just not ready to stay in a hotel room yet. If I was younger and did not have some health issues I would go in a heartbeat.

This collector will be there, as always, as I live nearby.

I would say 75% yes. I can travel to and from in a day. But a lot depends on the status of the area at the time.

In addition to accepting Pre War consignments for November's auction we will also have items from the auction that will be running at that time. It's a post war auction with killer basketball. Highlights:

1986 Fleer Jordan PSA 9
3 1980 Bird/Magic Rookies in PSA 8
4 2003 Topps LeBron James in PSA 10
Complete Basketball sets from 1974 - 1987
Nearly Every Star Co. Card ever printed! Keys are all BGS graded range from 7 - 9.5 mainly due to centering.

Willard's BBQ in the same strip as the Expo Center.

Bob O's in the Holiday Inn across the parking lot.

Default Flying in from Oregon

We are visiting my daughter at Penn State, then heading south to hit the show. First east coast show since I was a kid, and I am excited!

Willard's Real Pit BBQ. Located just a few doors down from the building where the Chantilly Show is held. My wife and I have been going there for many years, and my wife isn't much of a meat eater, but she loves their beef brisket. I'm a fan of the pulled pork BBQ. Not a fancy place - you order at the counter and seat yourself - a good quantity of delicious food at reasonable prices. Here's the linky to Willard's web site: https://www.dcbbq.com/

Default I sent in my check and contract!

I should have a table! I encourage all Net 54 members to stop by and say hello! Not to mention to check out some cool eye candy ( mostly post war, but a few pre war goodies) - not sure if they will have me listed under Howard Chasser or A Few of My Favorite Things. Would love to put some faces to names!

I'll be looking to buy as well - From the tobacco era through the early 70's. The rarer the better. Love test issues, food issues, bigger name singles, sets, graded, raw, Cobbs, Ruths, heck if your selling, just stop by and show it to me!

Decided to pass. In my opinion, it is not safe to do at this time. The way baseball card shows work is that you handle things other people have handled and exchange money hand to hand. I would love to go, but it will just have to wait.

Default Chantilly Show

FYI, Memory Lane will be set up at the show in the front & taking consignments for our Winter 2021 Auction. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of my friends!

My line of thought, too. It's not easy, my eight-year old inner-self is really angsty on this.

And I don't even know if I'd do next year, either. At least my current self has auctions to look at.

I tend to agree with Todd. Sometimes you gotta say, "WTF" and stay safe.

Todd, would not wearing gloves alleviate this concern?

Not enough. I'm not high risk (59, healthier than I deserve), but my mom is (86). I've had two friends whose parents (one dad, one mom) have died from COVID.
