Default Fanatics Collect Auction Prices

I don’t keep on top of this stuff all the time but, from a distance, it appears to me that Fanatics Collect weekly auctions are regularly bringing highest prices in the market for major mainstream vintage cards such as the major HOF rookie cards from the 1950’s, etc. Is it just me or would you not expect these types of results on these types of cards to come from their auctions. As far as I know, they are much more geared towards modern than vintage. Do others have doubts as I do about how this is happening?

Fanatics also has a much larger audience pool than any other auction house (including EBay) with all the buinesses they are in

I don't have time to go through all of their 1950's HOF rookie results, but the very first one I found was a 1957 Topps Frank Robinson in PSA 8 that they sold for 4975. Another 8 sold for 5600 recently on Ebay. If someone has the time and inclination to do a real statistical analysis (as much as is possible, since eye appeal can also cause variance in prices realized for the same grade), I'd be interested. I suspect, however, we'll find that sometimes they get outstanding results, and sometimes they have items that under perform - just like any other auction.

I suspect that eBay has more registered bidders than all other auction houses combined

yes, probably true, but they likely don't have the upper echelon of clientele that Fanatics does.

They have the top of the top flight customers in their base, so them getting awesome results weekly is totally no surprising.
