Grading Companies 1-10

I know there was a post about some of the grading companies a while back but I can't find the thread. I have never sent anything to a grading company and with all of the complaints, I am not sure if I should. If you have tobacco cards and regular Topps, etc. which grading company would you use? Would you use one for tobacco cards and one for others, etc. How would you rate the grading companies in rank order(as well as a 1-10 overall ranking), and ones to completely avoid? Thanks for all your input on experiences with grading companies.
