T206 Polar Bear Backs

I have seen alot of talk lately about the T206's on this board, so if I have missed a post discussing my forthcoming question I apologize. I was wondering if someone here could provide me with some information concerning the Polar Bear Backs of T206. How rare are they? Were they only on certain cards? Do they command a premium to other backs?

As you can tell from my question, I am a Pre-War card novice, but I am wanting to get more involved in this sector of the market. Any guidance would be appreciated.
