| 1930's Babe Ruth Goudey & Sport Kings

I'm neither the buyer nor the seller, but just curious why this lot went so low. Are these not real ? I'm not that smart, but what am I missing ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1930s-Gourdr...p2047675.l2557 Last edited by Jewish-collector; 11-21-2012 at 07:41 AM. |

I think you're smart for not bidding! I wouldn't take a chance on those with those crummy scans! I'm not sure if they are real or not?! If they are real...the winner can double his/her $$$$! |

Strange that the rest of his images are clear while those are rather hazy. Must have been a thick, yellow fog rolling through his house the day the pictures were taken.

Except for the other items having such clear scans, I would have guessed the auction was legit. I don't remember seeing any reprint Ruth WWG's.

I'm always suspect when a seller accepts and/or lists an extremely low BIN, when he clearly states in his auction listing what the cards could be worth if they are in fact genuine.

Hard to tell with the rotten scans. The spacing on the Sport Kings looks right, but it could still be a fake. Too much to pay to chance it.

Damn...I missed the chance to add a "Gourdry Babe Rutth" (sic) to my collection! What a rotten way to start Thanksgiving weekend!

I like the convenient dark shadows on the closeups.

The buyer boyntonbeach left positive feedback, they also re-sell cards so these could be up again shortly.

Interestingly enough, they were real! This is definitely the same Gehrig; its listed on ebay now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1934-GOUDEY-...item35c1a22431 |
