As a huge Yankees fan and novice collector, I am very curious to see what Yankee items everyone has in their collections. I loooooove looking at Yankees goodies, so show them off here!

OK. Let's begin with the Yankees' first year, 1903. Here's a scorecard from Hilltop Park:
And a pocket schedule: Cabinet photo of northern Manhattan. Hilltop Park is just to the right of the white NYC public school building: The 1904 scorecard from Chesbro's wild pitch game: Last edited by David Atkatz; 06-13-2017 at 08:42 PM. |

yankeesjetsfan - Thanks for starting this thread.
I've already seen at least two "holy grails" (can there be more than one?). Thanks for sharing those pictures David and Mark. I am in the midst of packing up for a long distance move next month. Much of what I have is already packed. Just as well though, because I would be practically embarrassed to show post next to some of these things. Nonetheless, if I get a chance I will see if there is anything worthwhile still unpacked. Hope to see a lot more great yankees items. Thanks Again! |

Sh!t David, I had no idea you had a program from the Chesbro wild pitch game!! That's gotta be one of the most notorious moments in the entire history of the franchise, and it rarely gets talked about these days...then again, I guess the same goes for Chesbro.
Bravo!

Monte Pearson- Hurled 1st no-hitter at historic Yankee Stadium
Yankee's hurler Monte Pearson was the 1st to ever pitch a no-hitter at historic Yankees Stadium on August 27, 1938.
Many others followed, including Bob Feller (his 2nd of 3 no-hitters), Allie Reynolds (his 2nd of 2 no-hitters in 1951), Don Larsen (perfect game), Dave Righetti, Jim Abbott, Doc Gooden, David Wells (perfect game), David Cone (perfect game) and most recently Roy Oswalt, Munro, Saarloos, Lidge, Dotel and Wagner in a 6 man combo no-hitter. Here is a toast to Monte Pearson the first to do it.... Last edited by Scott Garner; 06-16-2017 at 03:42 AM. |

I don't have much in the way of vintage Yankees memorabilia (just cards), but below are pictures of two of my favorite items--a game used ball from Game 6 of the 1952 World Series (Mantle hit his first World Series home run in this game) and a game used ball from Game 7 (Mantle hit his second World Series home run in this game).
I think these came from a ball boy or something, and there is another from game 2 out there with the same handwriting. Unfortunately, I don't own it yet and couldn't afford it even if I did have a shot at it. So, for now, I'll enjoy these.

There is no way I can compete with what has been shown here (Incredible stuff!) but I do have these, which I cherish.
It's a pic of my Uncle Sam at the 1958 WS with Mickey Mantle and Dizzy Trout. My Uncle's friend, Norm, is the closest to Mick, and that is Dizzy Trout in the middle. I missed an opportunity (my own fault) to purchase a 1958 WS ticket stub sometime ago so if anyone currently has one for sale, please let me know. I think it would go great with this pic. Another, although it's a card and doesn't necessarily go with the theme of this thread, imo, anyways, it is worth showing.

I believe it was in, Leon's, Babe Ruth tab at the top right of the site but I just went back 17 pgs and can no longer find it? The photo had a lot clearer, more whole face pic, if you will, of the Babe and it mentioned something of the other guy in the photo being a Mayor of a large city somewhere. To be honest, when I first seen it, I sadly didn't even recognize Babe. He looked that rough, unfortunately.
