Interesting Lemieux piece - need help

I picked this up a while back and stumbled across it recently. This was sold as a 1985 O-Pee-Chee Box Bottom production proof. I haven't seen another like it, but am curious if anyone can confirm or has any information?

Could be a proof, has parts of the sides of the box and looks to be unfolded. Does it have the card backs or is it blank?

The back has the card backs, which look to be legit. A few things to note, the regular box bottom cards (including the Lemieux) have a lot more clarity of the fans and background behind the player. The detail seems to be darker and more washed out behind the player, with a blue tint. Under magnification of a 30x loupe, the details around the borders and the logos are consistent with real examples. The black lines and detail are solid and not dot patterns. The card stock also feels correct.
