sets with both major and minor league representation

How many sets include both major and minor league players? I am aware of some (listed below), but I don't know if I've got them all. While any replies are appreciated, I'm mostly asking about 20th century sets (prewar of course!). The term "major league" loses some meaning with earlier sets.

1949 BOWMAN.....the 1st major issue (over 100 cards) Post-WWII set.

Included in it are 240 Major League players, Managers and Coaches and a 36-card PCL set.

Good point Ted. If I am correct, couldn't the PCL's be found at some point in regular packs of 49 Bowmans? Was this true in only certain parts of the country?

BARRY

You are correct, veteran hobbyist Bill Bossert and I have acquired original Bowman
collections which have included factory cut PCL cards. Upon asking the owners of
these cards where they got them, they remembered finding them interspersed in
packs of the regular issue of 1949 Bowmans. Most of the factory-cut PCL cards in
my set are from such collections which I acquired back in the mid-'80s.

Wow, there is a name I haven't heard in a long time. Bill Bossert was the first dealer I got to know when I was stationed in Philly in 1982. He got me started on t205s.

I met Bill Bossert and his partner, Gary Dollar back in 1981 at Willow Grove, PA. Two
super great guys, not just in BB card dealing, but the sheer depth of their knowledge
on any aspect of the hobby. And, their enthusiam in sharing it with me.

In addition, Bill was the author of many revealing articles in the Krause BB Cards Mags.
in the early 1980's on Uncut Sheets. From Goudeys to Bowmans to 1952 Topps (excuse
the expression, Leon). And, who can forget Bill's picture of the 1934 Goudey uncut Hi#
sheet of 25 cards with Lajoie (#106) on it....it doesn't get much better than that in this hobby.

Ted, we definately need to get togehter talk when we get a chance to meet. Hopefully the National next year.

Mentioning the uncut sheets reminds me the the two guys that used to always come up with partial Bowman sheets all the time and they were only willing to sell when they needed more money for drugs. I think those guys were a big source of Bill's Bowman and Topps sheets.

I recall some very interesting stories and crazy goings-on back then, but your
story is one I do not recall. And, I am certain that if I knew of such dealings
I would not have forgotten it.

Yeah, we could probably exchange "war" stories from those early '80s days for
24 hrs around the clock. Another guy who was great with hobby stories is Irv
Lerner. When the Ocean City (NJ) Show was active we would stay up till 4 AM
exchanging stories with him.
