Cobb w/ Cobb Back Wet Sheet Transfer

As I continue to glance through REA, I found it interesting that Nagy's Cobb / Cobb back has a wet-sheet transfer of another Cobb back on the front of it. I guess this shows that at least more than a single sheet of Cobb / Cobb backs were produced.

I noticed that too, Joe. Yet this is the first one I've ever seen with a wet transfer...I wonder where the rest are resting?

i mentioned this to Rob the other day, he actually didn't even notice it, that's why it's not mentioned in the description...

i thought the very same thing...this obviously means that more than one sheet were printed, sooooooo where are they???

Michael - I can assure you that more than one sheet was printed for ANY press-run of pre war cards. Many more than one.

Where are they? That I can't help you with.

I think it more than suggests that there were other sheets with Ty Cobb brand cigarettes on them -- the $64,000 question is what were on those other sheets?

a) Full sheets of Ty Cobb/Cobb backs?

or

b) Full sheets of T206 cards, including the Cobb back -- perhaps other T206 fronts cards having Cobb back, though none ever found?

or

Interesting stuff...

Joe- i guess i "knew" that there were more then one sheet printed...but seeing the wet transfer gets one excited that MANY of the cobb sheets were produced...
