Need some help identifying what these are ...
Posted By: Bernie
Does anyone know if these E254 Colgan Chips were ever reprinted ?? I have someone who wants to sell me eight (Wagner, Cobb, Baker, Hooper, Steinfeldt, Chase, Waddell and Flick.) for $1000. I think it would be a very good deal if they're real. I'm going to meet up with him this week to take a look at them, but really don't know what to look for to determine if they're authentic or reprints. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. |

At this point in the internet and technology age it's best to know that everything has been reprinted or faked. The best thing to do would be to have a real one in hand when comparing.....other than that you need to know what to look for and I would recommend looking at our "detecting counterfeits" tab and go from there....good luck |

I'm always wary of any batch of vintage cards that are 1) in great shape ... 2) feature only stars ... and 3) come from a set that looks easy to reprint ... plus, if the guy wants $1,000 for them, he knows they're worth a lot. So why hasn't he had them graded? |

a buddy of mine forwarded me this offer. I think they might be reprints but most of all I don't think it is a great deal for the lot. Take a look at them in person and maybe I am wrong. Color looks faded and the condition looks alittle off. Good luck. Bring a friend along with you just in case. I remember a friend of mine was buying a collection of 50's cards at some guys house in Mass. He went to the house and got bundled for all his money. Just be careful. |
