Authentic..... or a photocopy of an authentic card. Its not one of the reprints. The back is easy to tell for 100% |

The card is obviously graded. You have doubts though?

Looking at the picture and zooming in, I thought I saw writing on the bottom left? Maybe I am just seeing things? I appreciate your opinions and am more likely to bid on it now. Your expertise is always appreciated!

Babe certainly looks like he was in a foul mood in that picture. Perhaps the clubhouse bartender had cut him off...

Yeah, what is that in lower left, maybe something on Babe's jacket he's wearing?

Grabbed this image from an old Leland auction. Not sure if it helps. The only thing I can see different is the second stick of the "N" on Leland's has a notch out, or some kind of dark spot. Matt Last edited by Matt E.; 08-28-2009 at 10:21 PM. |

I'm not saying one way or the other... 2 concerns. It seems a bit too dark, and that may well not be a problem. And, below the dotted cut line it seems too bright, and that is a bit more troubling. It may well be ok.

Well, regardless of whether the card is real or not at least we know that it will be offered for 25% off in the days following the auction.

I owned this card. Sold it to a well known dealer at the National in Clevelend. Looks like it found its way to Bill. Card was previously in a PSA 5 holder. I had some concerns about it so I crossed it over to SGC who gave it a 60. So then; if it is not "real" it has fooled both of these grading services. It's real. Overgraded? Perhaps, but real to be sure. |
