Let's see some players lying down on the job.
Posing in those old team photos Sliding Whatever Safe or Out - Nobody Knows  Safe at First - The Failed Pickoff  Who's On Second? Downey and Doyle???  Anything (well almost anything  ) goes as long as they're getting laid.

i would presume it was more common in 19th c because the process was much more time consuming back then and the subject had to stay perfectly still for a longer period of time...do it'd be much easier to accomplish this lying down!!
