It blows my mind that a company can guarantee a grade through a plastic case.

  - I just mailed two packages that were of a much higher value, and neither came in that high. Also, regarding insurance - for registered mail you MUST declare the package's actual value, and that's what they base the price on;i.e-getting insurance isn't optional.

I use registered for any expensive package I send and the only issue I have had is slow delivery times. I do find it interesting that someone would consider not insuring a registered package to the content value to save what $20??? I also agree with Beckett in that you should only have been refunded for the value of the card, trying to collect the cost of flying to a show, hotel and the submissions fees from another grading company is almost imo you trying to take advantage of the situation. |

When did flaming start picking up again in internet forums? I seem to be running into it everywhere these days - perhaps it's the state of the economy?

My post was a hypothetical, as many of my posts are - I wanted to know how safe items are when shipped registered, as compared to priority. I got my answer from Leon, but when I shipped two registered items on Friday, I still showed up at the post office planning to ship them insured, and they were; however, I'm not sure it was optional. As an aside, I thought 'PC' stood for 'politically correct', which I am anything but.
