| Auction lot withdrawn

Two days in a row, from different auction houses, I have been informed that lots have been withdrawn after WEEKS of being posted with bids. In your experience, is this common?

Ted, auction houses do not always control the entirety of the auction. Sometimes there are revelations, such as a problem with the lot - authenticity - etc, sometimes the consigner simply says "pull it, I want it back" to which the auction house has no other response than "ok".
