| What in blazes is this ruth?

Prohibition didn't end until 1933, yet one of these recently sold for $350 at auction apparently. Is this real? fake? I could find no info out there about it really. Yet some people seem to think it's authentic and one of only 50 known to exist. any ideas? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1927-Babe-Ru...0AAOSw9NdXtr07

Looks like it has been through the "time machine" if you will. I would not touch it. Peace, Mike PS Sorry Steve, if its real then you have something. I personally would not want it. IMO. Last edited by vthobby; 08-20-2016 at 02:57 PM. |

I have the Gehrig one too. Sigh. Bought them for like $30 each on ebay. Some mope on Long Island was selling a stack of them "he got in an estate sale." Remarkably they all looked identical in matrkings, stains, etc. Live and learn.

Yeah, fantasy piece. Using a common MS word font and a common photo with the usual tea staining. I would pay 5 bucks or less if I wanted it for fun, I will admit I have a fake as hell Herpolsheimer Joe Jackson in my collection. Completely because I will never find a real one in my price range and I would go there as a kid in the 70s and the store has a place of reverence in my mind. I wanted it, so I dropped the couple bucks for the fake. Nothing wrong in my mind as long as you don't misrepresent something. This bugs me as they are misrepresenting.
