| Is this legit?

Just got this in a random lot. I am not an auto guy at all. Curious to hear thoughts/opinions. Thanks!

Mays is not real. It is a common signature that was obtained through the mail, but signed by someone other than Willie.

So how does that work? Someone sends to Willie through the mail and someone else signs for him? I suspected it wasn't real, just curious, really.

I'm not an auto guy but is it possible that it's a vintage signature? It actually doesn't look too bad in comparison with the older ones I've seen.

What do you mean by vintage signature?

I mean from that time period. Willie's auto has changed throughout the years.

Secretarial. When people sent in TTM he would have a secretary sign things for him. I also get the vintage signature aspect as players signatures evolve over time. An early signature of a great ball player is sometimes extremely different than a more recent one. Fun to see how signatures change. On this one I would say secretarial, but I wouldn't bet money on it.....nor would I spend any on that particular auto.

Definitely not signed by Mays himself.

There are a lot of those signatures out there and they're believed to be signed by willie's wife ttm.

It looks similar in some ways and dissimilar in others to the one I got from Richard years back: https://www.collectorfocus.com/index...gned-postcards I hope mine is ok because I don't know where the receipt/money back guarantee slip is from that sale
