I'm old enough to remember Jim Bunning of the Detroit Tigers pitching that no-hitter against the Boston Red Sox in 1958 at Fenway Park ! Only five players in Tiger history have thrown no-hitters. The Tigers have never had a Perfect Game in their history, though with modern replay Galarraga would have had one . RIP Jim.

While both were accomplished in their field, they seem very underrated imo. Too bad....may both rip.

If I am recalling this right, someone once tried to explain to Bunning that as a matter of physics a curve ball was impossible, and he responded, physics don't know sh*t.

1000 strikeouts in each league and no hitters in each league. Senator from my home state. Antagonist to Ruth Bader Ginsburg in one of the odder chapters. A prolific signer back in the day too. RIP to him and Cher's main squeeze at one time. I'm sure it's no more than ever but seems like 2016 into mid-2017 has been a tough haul for celebrities.....
