I don’t think he has completed the set. He just likes Wagner and Cobb, major hof’ers, and rare backs/ combos. Ryan, correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you have any commons unless they have a truly tough back, do you? And that is really sweet! Congrats, man.

| Oh, happy day!

Nothing compared to the Cobbs and other high dollar items on here, but a great mail day for me! Picked these up from another local collector that contacted me. He told me that he had three Fort Worth cards and a price. I picked them up without even checking to see if I needed. Welp, two out of three were needed. The third, my copy was graded so this will go into the page. I can't imagine this going any better. I'm now at 14 of the 16 for the Fort Worth Panthers team set, just need the Morris and Weatherford cards.

Very awesome cards this month. I had a great day, both of my purchases arrived today. Not only did my first Cobb arrive today, but my first honest-to-goodness card of Gehrig arrived today as well from the BST. Both are very eye appealing. Going to send the Gehrig off to SGC along with a couple other vintage pieces in need of slabbing.

Picked up this possible M116 proof of Barney Pelty. I've seen suggestions that these cards may have come from an advertising piece, but I believe them to be proofs. If this card came from an advertising piece, the piece would have had to have been huge. This card originally appeared in a lot of 65 other "proofs". A poster that size would have been beautiful: Last edited by packs; 06-16-2020 at 11:57 AM. |
