Default Greatest Sets Ever

What would your top five vintage football sets be? Kind of an open question that could be related to your personal favorites or those which may be the most valuable for collectors. Please don't nominate anything produced after 1971, since I'm looking for a pattern of some consensus among the oldies. Thanks.

Consensus? Screw that. I'm an iconoclast. I don't deal in the concept.

Here anyway are my picks:

1) 1954 Blue Ribbon
2) 1963 Humpty Dumpty CFL coins
3) 1962 Post Cereal CFL
4) 1963 Post Cereal CFL
5) 1968 O-Pee-Chee CFL
6) 1959 Topps CFL (if my #2 pick doesn't count)

If however you really force me to limit my picks to the four down eleven man variant of the sport, these are my picks:

1) 1964 Topps
2) 1965 Topps
3) 1966 Topps
4) 1968 Topps
5) 1959 Topps

I love pre-war so there is a bias toward that era in my list

1. 1926 Pottsville Maroons RPPCs - first 'card' set that has all NFL players in it
2. 1935 National Chicle - iconic set and love the artwork
3. 1894 Mayo - how can you not include the first mainstream football set
4. 1926 Spalding - iconic football players in a multi-sport set
5. 1955 Topps AA - i love this tribute set

Honorable mention
Red Grange Shotwell sets (ad back and blank back)

Don't know about greatness but my favorites all time are:

1. 1968 Topps: first Topps AFL and NFL, special designs for Packers and Raiders, last cards Ditka and Taylor, first card Griese. Love the 1960s design.

2. 1956 Topps: first Topps NFL set. Golden Age sized. Pop Art design. Great players. A nice challenge to find without tons of print boogers on them.

3. 1962 Post: nice design. Love the idea of cards on the cereal. Great selection of players.

4. Gonna go a little wild card here, since I would go with 1972 Topps and 1973 Topps to round it out, so...all Cleveland TI's of Jim Brown
