Default NBA Gambling Scandal

I'm sure you guys have seen this. At what point will the marriage between gambling and professional sports come to an end? Only the sportsbooks and the politicians they've captured would have thought it's been a good idea.

Unders on player prop bets was always going to be the downfall — helluva lot easier than shaving points.

The local D.C. all news station WTOP had Christine Brennan from USA Today on the air this evening. She said what I am sure a lot of people were thinking; "It was only a matter of time."

It was difficult enough to manage sports betting/fixing when it was illegal. Now with gambling terminals at stadiums, and being able to put in seemingly any/every bet with a few taps on the phone, it was only a matter of time.

It's an embarrassment. It's happening across all sports. If you think Baseball and Basketball are the only ones, than I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.

Many NBA owners have ties to professional gambling and organized crime, Fertitta, Adelson, and others. I doubt the problem is going away.

Watching football on CBS yesterday the commercials are ridiculous.
Stranded motorists go into a rundown bar full of Sullen depressed people,
There’s a football game on TV no one’s watching - the stranded motorists start placing bets - next thing you know everybody’s happy and alive.
Commercial basically said football is boring unless you bet on it 🙄
