Verlander hasn't done a signing in eons and is not a fan of signing in general. What he considers his autograph is hardly more than a couple of squiggles that any primate could muster up.

Yea; despite pitching for years in Houston, where TriStar is based, they were never able to get him for a signing. He hasn't even signed any cards for Topps or any other card company since he was with the Detroit Tigers. Steve

I remember being at Tiger camp during Verlander's rookie season. He wouldn't look at anyone or sign for anyone even then.

I have his auto on a few of his rookie cards, and yes, if the autograph were just on plain paper one couldn't decipher whom it belonged to.
I would show a couple of pictures, but the site is still down. |

He signed a ball for me in 2006 at a road game in Milwaukee. I also remember him signing in early 2007 at a Detroit Gibralter Trade Center show where Magglio Ordonez was the headlining signer. This was a few months after Magglio hit his big walk off ALCS clinching HR. Magglio's line was long, Verlander's line was nearly empty. He was just sitting there looking pissed-off.

Nice snag. I would always go to Jays camp and Halladay was another impossible guy. But one year he stopped his car on the way out and signed for me and maybe two other people. The security guard even said he’d never seen him do that before.

Verlander would sign at TigerFest at Comerica.
I got him to sign his first no-hitter ticket and a baseball bat with no-hit pitcher signatures. My son got him to sign a ball. He also did a paid signing at a mall show in 2008 & I was fortunate enough to get him to sign his game used bat from 2007 and he even added a nice inscription. |
