According to some stationery I have from the Bishop & Co., dated 1906, that is not the answer...I am making the assumption that they ran it since their name is on the letterhead (you would think)..good guess.. |

quiz question- E99 and E100 series

Leon,Only one person has contacted me so far (& I didn't tell!!).... If you ever go on the TV show "Millionaire" and this is the big question...bring my number along.. I'll be fair with my consulting fee... Two more tougher questions on Bishop..1) Name the five cities they had offices in, four of which operated factories? (Clue: Leon knows at least 3)2) Which city still has the only remaining original Bishop factory (As of Jan 2002) ? |

I have no clue to any of the question but I just want to say we need more of this...I love history in general but these kind of stories and trivias are very informative to new collectors like me. |

I believe the only existing former factory for Bishop and Co. is the one in San Diego, which houses an antique store. I believe that San Francisco and Los Angeles also had factories but are long gone. |

quiz question- E99 and E100 series
Posted By: leon
The 2 brothers that ran the company were Roland Bishop and Willliam Bishop Jr.. There were factories in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and a temporary one in Oakland, at 6th and Clay streets. I will need to defer back to Mark for any other offices. And here is the last question, which if the first one didn't get answered, then this one probably won't either. Mark- if you are out there you can answer this if you would like. Who was the 3rd person that was running the company AND listed on their letterhead with the 2 brothers? regards all |
