Recent Pickup - Baseball team tintype

Hey guys,

I picked up this 1/6th plate tintype recently of a baseball team. I was told it was circa 1870s. Does that date seem right?

Looks quite a bit later, probably 1890's.

Sweaters, hair style, caps, and general way they pose. After you've seen hundreds of 19th century photographs, you kind of get a sense of what decade a picture was taken. Dan , Rob M., Corey, David R, and others are also good at dating photos. It just takes experience.
