Detroit Club (Tigers) Cigar Box??

I just picked up this "Detroit Club" cigar box, anybody know if this is anyway related to the Detroit Tigers. I noticed that the D in Detroit is same gothic style as the Tigers logo.

I would think that if it was the Tigers it would say Base Ball Club or Ball Club, but do agree that the font is very similar to the Tigers'.

Living in Ann Arbor I see these frequently. I don't think there is a connection. You see the old english D often in this area. Still a cool piece.

I have added a close up of the logo from inside of the box, it appears to be a tiger.
