Its believed to be once owned by James T Sheckard Chicago Cubs. The quick skinny....I got it years ago from my my Dad's long time barber Lyle Simmons (who is in his 80s). His mother (Bessie Hartman) was Jimmy Sheckard's wife's (Fannie Eaves) sister in law. The book came to Lyle through his mother who got it from Sheckard's wife. All these people are from Columbia PA where Sheckard was born. Theres nothing in the book to support any of this, but thats the story I got when I got it about 10 years ago. $260 delivered.

If I may speak for Keith, there was only one edition, and it was published in 1900. It was not reprinted. |

This is clearly a modern reprint but if you look at the details it says printed 1900. Isn't that a bit misleading? |

An original printing of a book about a Cubbie HOFer, with provenance of ownership lineage coming through another Cubs player from the deadball era?! |
