N28 set

Can folks give me a rough idea of what an N28 set would go for in gd-vg condition. The Anson is also borderline gd-vg.

Are you refering to a complete set of 50 cards, or just the baseball players from the set?

My guess would be $3500 to $4000 for the ten in good condition.
These have picked up steam over the last few years.

The Indian A&Gs are N2 and N36

Hal, I've actually stopped colecting Indian cards and ahve sold off most of my collection. I still have a few assort Gangong's of Geronimo and Red Cloud around along with a really nice Papoose Gum Sitting Bull and the e49 Wild West Caramel cards of Buffalo Bill and Teddy Roosevelt.

Robert,
Thanks for the estimate. I am considering buying a partial set (8 of 10) and wanted to get a sense of what they went for. I have always liked this set, but other than a handful of Old Judges, this is my first excursion in 19th century stuff. I have mostly collected toboacco and early 20th century candy cards.

P.S. Any words from the wise on this set? How hard are they to find in ex condition?

Of all the N28 baseball players, Clarkson seems to show up the least often. Has anyone found Clarkson more difficult than the others?

This is one of the sets that is not too difficult to find in ex or better. I think it had to do with the heavy card stock......my only type from it is Keefe and he's in an SGC 84 holder.....good luck

This set is one of my favorites...and also one where I tend to see a lot of trimmed examples, a lot of back damage, and examples that have been cut from advertisement pieces.

JIM. Make sure that these advertisements are not the ones that you are buying...unless that is what you want. The "real" ones have the names from the series listed on the back and the print on the bottom. The advertisements are thinner paper stock and carry blank backs.

BEN. I agree. I see Comiskey, Caruthers, Kelly, Mulvey and Keefe the most.
Clarkson does not pop up as often.
