The First Horizontal Cards?

What cards were the first horizontal cards? I found two so far (Old Judge and Buchner Gold Coin).

How many horizontal cards are there in the Old Judge set? I found this Ward while searching the Web (no, I don't own it):



Also, I recently picked up this Buchner Gold Coin card:





According to Lipset's Encyclopedia, the card of George (Dandy) Wood is the only horizontal card in the Buchner Gold Coin set and is the final card in the set.

Are these two the first horizontal baseball cards from a known set or were there any earlier ones?

I can't help much with your question since my collection is very limited 19th century wise but I had to tell you that that is a seriously nice Wood you are sporting there... I think I'm secure enough in my collection to be able to say that

Seriously, as a Phillies collector I had never seen that Wood Buchner card before... Now its going on my want list!

The 1869 Peck and Snyder could be characterized as a horizontal card.

A lot of the best early cards were vertical poses though like this one:
