| Trade Question

Posted By: Shanon I have a chance to trade a SCG 1.5 Goudey Gehrig for a PSA 5 14' Cracker Jack Lajoie and was wondering everyones thought on it. Which is more important, card condition or bigger HOFer? Thanks. |

Posted By: Cat I'm not so sure Gehrig was MATERIALLY better HOFer, but that's an argument for another thread. For pure card transaction..take the Lajoie. |

| Trade Question

Posted By: E, Daniel Lajoie in a heartbeat, as long as the eye-appeal is there....not TOO heavy on the staining, and give the card a really solid look over....just because it is graded doesn't mean it is graded accurately. If there are condition problems psa missed, well, it becomes a little harder a choice. |

Posted By: dan mckee amazing how the hobby has changed. What if both cards were of equal condition? Then which would you take? 3rd party Grading is a CANCER to the hobby! |

| Trade Question

Posted By: Frank Wakefield Well I figure that if you're a baseball card COLLECTOR then you'll pick whichever card fits in with your collecting interests the best... Are you collecting all Goudeys? All CJs?? Maybe you try for a card of each HOFer, and you already have one of these guys and "need" the other... |

| Trade Question

Posted By: steve A nice EX 5 (well centered with only minimal corner wear as downgrade) is the lowest I go. VG-EX 4's just have too many issues for my tastes. I know my minimal "5" standard take me out of certain tough acquisitions where a "4" may be the best grade out there. |
