| What's your most exciting ebay win?

Posted By: Patrick McMenemy It's not often when you finally knock an item off the top of your wantlist. It's been a long while since I have been able to do it. It's extra sweet when the item is rarely seen and the example is in great shape. I know I'll remember this Easter quite fondly. I'm glad I was the underbidder on the only other one I have ever seen. This one was worth the wait, since it is a super clean example without pinholes! |

Posted By: George Dreher Probably the most exciting was back in 1998. Someone listed a Grover Alexander single-signed baseball in the wrong category, under "antiques". It wasn't even listed under "sports". Got it for $100 and resold it for $5000. |

Posted By: Dan Bretta This extremely rare book put out by Guy Green, owner of the Nebraska Indians team. It was a 10 day auction and I happened upon it in the first hour it was listed...that was an almost excruciating 10 days. |

| What's your most exciting ebay win?

Posted By: RC McKenzie ..around 1998 there were some incredible cards on ebay that did not 'disappear'. I remember waiting for a Holland Creameries Peckinpaugh that was listed that I noticed was not in Lemke's book at the time. This was before snipe services and ebay watch lists. The card was at around $275, but I was afraid to pull the trigger. Some guy named 'can of primo' won it for around $300. I let a Chase bl 460 go by the boards for under $400 as well as a few unc t214's. Finally, I pulled the trigger for $750 for an n172 Connie Mack throwing card from curly777. It was 10 x the amount of any card I had ever bought. I sold off much of my prior collection to fund the purchase. About 6 weeks later I saw other cards I wanted so I listed the n172 Mack on ebay. John from fullcount won it for about 850 and I was really happy to have turned a profit. He emailed me and stated that he had been looking for that pose for 20 years. Ebay is a blast and I have too many war stories to relate here. regards.. |

Posted By: Ray Bought this for less than $400 not too long ago. Not a bad price in my opinion since a PSA 7 that was O/C sold for over $4500 a few weeks ago. |

Posted By: David Smith Bought these Yale Murphy cards in either 1998 or 1999 from two different sellers. College photo was with a group of other Pach Brother photos of Yale students. Newsboy was in with a group of Newsboy actress cabinet cards. |
