Posted By: peter chao Let's put Seinfeld, digressions, and grammar lessons all in the category of "asides" and limit them. If we don't limit them the thread will probably end up being hijacked. |

Posted By: Mark No Cobby, when the original poster wrote "your welcome," he committed a spelling mistake, just like when someone intends to write "principle" but mistakingly writes "principal." The poster did not either make an error in puctuation or use poor grammar (e.g., "you is welcome"). |

Posted By: peter chao Blame it all on Jay, he started this thread. No seriously, none of us blame Barry. Actually, he was the first Net54 member that made me feel at home posting on this board. We are just trying to limit "asides" so that threads are not hijacked. |

Posted By: Cobby33 Mark- That's funny you posted that picture. That cover was the first time I ever heard that term and every time hence, I picture that album cover. Anyhow, I agree, since nobody is perfect grammatically, or otherwise. My comment was simply a vignette on a pet peeve. I clarified it by saying that people's grammar, spelling, etc. on here doesn't concern me. |

Posted By: jay behrens I'd just like to point out to all the people that think it's OK to post off topic on what they think is dead, that what you think is a dead thread may not be dead. Just look at MW's reintroduction of The Card thread. Certain people thought it was dead or wanted the topic swept under the rug. MW started the thread again and immediately someone tried to hijack the thread. Fortunately, better minds prevailed and MWs thread and talk about The Card has proven to be one of the better threads this board has ever seen. |

Posted By: barrysloate I say everybody needs to relax and enjoy themselves. That's what the board means to me. When I can share my knowledge of the hobby, I'm not bashful and I'm the first one to post my opinion or knowledge about any hobby related topic. When I want to just have some fun and kick back a little I do so, and I owe nobody an apology. If I veer a thread off topic, everyone is free to hop right back on. And I'll hop back on along with them. |

Posted By: jay behrens I'm all for having fun, but several people that like to post OT stuff in an active thread claim they do it because the thread is dead. The first thread about The Card was derailed, either on purpose or accidently. There are those here that would like to see that whole issue just go away. |

Posted By: barrysloate Some of Jay's points are certainly valid and I agree it's not my place or anyone else's to determine if a thread is dead. In general, the more interesting and intense the discussion, the less likely it is to be hijacked. |
