PSA vs. SGC: higher grade vs. nicer holder

I was shocked when I received this card back from PSA!! I crossed it over to SGC. Even with a grade lower I'm happier it's in a SGC holder (should have been a PSA 1 anyway).

PSA got it wrong, SGC got it right and if you would have sent it to PRO I'm sure you could have received a 4 or 5. In any case, good move on the cross over. I'm sure if you were to sell it people wouldn't need the label to figure out the correct grade.

That's just the way PSA encapsulates a lot of OJs. There is a sleeving (mylar, I believe) that is supposed to keep the card from moving too much. The card still moves though...

I never did call PSA. I decided after that to have all my OJ's graded by SGC. I did try and cross it over and the PA show, obviously it didn't make it. After thinking it over, I decided to send it in to SGC with some other stuff (I busted it out of the case first).

As for the holdering on that one who cards. Your not going to make that card appreciably worse with the loose space in the PSA holder or with the tight black borders of the SGC holder.

SGC has the nicest holder in the business. As for grading I believe SGC is much tougher. In time buyers will realize that and SGC prices will reflect it.

the card is clearly protected in the PSA mylar "condom"

SGC 10 or PSA 2 - eh, what's the difference?

The difference is about $50 - $75 to somebody that allows the label to dictate the price of a card...
