Caramel cards...whats the deal with all the writing on them??

There seem to be so many caramel issues that have writing or marks on the backs...especially when compared to some of the T's that just don't seem to have the same issues...

E94's and E98's seem to be very common with some kind of marks being on the backs....does anybody have any good thought as to why these issues just seemed to say "write on me please"?

who knows there wasn't much else to write on

I have 60+ Boston Store cards and a ton of them have writting on the back and even date stamps from the early 1920's explain that to me.....

Since there were no stats why not add your own, alot of the cards I have added information about the player like teams, positions etc.

Neat to have on some cards but SGC is hammering them grade wise.
