| Colgan's variation

Posted By: John S I noticed this when sorting some of my duplicates. It is not quite as easy to see on the scan but "Woods" and "Buffalo" are different between the two examples. The lines in the letters are thinner on one of the cards and the "W" in Woods on the thinner lined example is larger than the other "W". |

Posted By: Joe D. when burning a plate.... the way the plate was exposed - stuff would get 'fatter' like this. People would actually do it on purpose when needed. |

| Colgan's variation

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley John, I think you have a legitimate variation there. The "thin-letter" Woods head appears to also be a little bigger than the "fat-letter" Woods. Here are some others (some are catalogued and some aren't) |

Posted By: John S After looking even closer, the top loop of the "B" in "Buffalo" has a different shape in each example. |
