Paper loss on front > SGC 20?

Has anyone received a grade higher than an SGC 20 for a card with minor paper loss on the front? If so, I'd love to see a scan. I'm contemplating buying a PSA 2 with paper loss on the front and worry that it won't cross.

I don't have the scan and didn't get the card graded,a fellow board member who shall remain nameless did,and I doubt he gets any preferrential treatment,but I have a psa 5 Old Judge card with 2 spots of paper loss on front,both in the picture portion of the card. Both spots are easily noticeable from arms length

I can't see the paper loss but your scan confirms my fears about a card with paper loss on the front getting anything higher than an SGC20.

Dan,

I care because if I buy a fairly pricey card and it doesn't cross, then I will lose hundreds of dollars in market value if I ever sell it.

Dan, I can only speak for myself, but all my cards reside in graded holders and it's every
bit a hobby to me than it is to you, I guarantee that!!

I doubt you are that old. When I started going to shows in '79, this was already a business for many with more than its share of slimey scam artists, reprint/forgeries, and plenty of hobbyists (dare I say the word) who realized they were spending actual dollars on their cards and considered potential re-sale value if needed. Like other myths of a "golden age", I am not sure it ever existed - well, at least not after 1970, and probably much earlier than that.

Here's another example - the spot just above to right of Gehringer cap is a very small spot of paper loss. This one's a SGC 60.
