I am currently reading "The Pride of Havana, a history of Cuban Baseball" by Roberto Gonzalez Echevarria. In the section about the Santa Clara team of the early 1920s he states that "A local candymake known as "Libis" sold baseball cards of this Santa Clara team (apparently an earlier Santa Clara team from the late teens or early '20's - Jeff), offering prizes to those who completed their albums." |
