Any ideas regarding the origin of this photo? It is 8" x 10", and is credited to Kuenzel of the Detroit News. |

John: The Dutch Clark photo you pictured was offered as a free supplement in the Detroit News, I believe on a Sunday. The piece sells for up to $30, but I believe it to be undervalued. The same photo image was used in other trading cards and similar genres as well for Clark. |

I think the estimate may be a bit low but that is just my opinion. I had a group of 5 of them at one time which came from Ace Gatowski's estate. The Dups sold from 50 to 100 based on condition and timing. |

My guess was that the insert was issued somewhere between 1936 to 1938. I have the other as well; it seems to be easier to acquire. |

I bid on that top picture as well - but was it really a photo or was it a half-tone? It looks like the same picture that is on the 1938 Diamond Matchcover - I have it on my website at http://pages.prodigy.net/revmoran/images/fbmb3.htm |

Another Clark supplement (the running pose) w/postcard ended last evening. According to the selller the postcard was postmarked Aug 1938. This is useful in clarifying the date of issue. |
