| An Unexpected Act of Kindness part 2

So I recently related a story on the board about a fellow board member that sent me a Winchester Hustlers team postcard to me for free out of the blue in August. Well know this same board member saw me post about trying to find a low grade louisville old judge card for my small kentucky pre war card collection and what showed up in the mail today but, a n172 1889 John Ewing Louisville Card. I almost passed out. This is my first old judge card and I am so thankful I got this because even the beater old judge louisville cards are still out of my price range. The image looks great. Needless to say I sent him a very big thank you email. The scan is below TT |

| In the memorabilia section

There was a post about a 1966 Sonny Siebert no hit game, I saw that and noticed one of the press clippings was a birth day collectible for me. Thanks! Rob who sent me the press clipping after I informed him that what was I wanted; NOT the program Rich |

TT- Nice story. My advice is to pay it forward, in other words, extend a similar act of kindness to someone else who might need something you can help him out with. Not only will this be a kind gesture but you'll find you will make collecting friends which can be invaluable down the line. |

TT... We actually spoke not too long ago about some T210's Series 6 because I wanted a Lexington one (10 mins from where I am from)... I was actually given a Series 6 Olson (Richmond)... Now, like you I want an Old Judge Louisville...one day... But yes that is what the hobby is about... Great card btw!!! Travis |

| Great Story Travis

Thanks for the replies everyone. That is great that you got a series 6 card travis. As we talked about before I focus on the winchester team and I had a few non winchester players but I recently sold them. I would like to get a series 6 richmond player down the line though. I would also like to let tbob know that my prewar collection is still very small and totals about 9 cards, but the teacher I did my student teaching with last spring was a big reds fan and I gave him a very nice 1971 Topps pete rose which he was very excited about. I am sure down the road I will be able to help fellow collectors out with prewar stuff as well. TT |

Great story. Ive had similar things happen a couple times to me on here. I hope to be able to help out in some similar way too at some point. Despite big money/big business, we all remember this is still the greatest/most interesting hobby there is, no matter at what level. |

| Paying It Forward

Great story about paying it forward. To that end, several years ago I was writing a monthly column for Baseball Hobby News. One of my columns was about the joy of opening a 1960 Topps baseball pack back when I was 8 years old. So what happens? A collector/dealer sends me one of his unopened 1960 Topps packs. What a thrill to open it! Great thread - there are still a lot of collectors who 'Get It' about our hobby.
