1866 Peverelly; 1884 Our Base Ball Club for Sale
American Pastimes, by Charles Peverelly, 1866- First edition of very early history of which baseball dominates the text. Detailed overview of the first two decades of organized ball, with information on all the significant teams of the era that is difficult to find elsewhere. Our Base Ball Club, by Noah Brooks, 1884. Popular and scarce children's book that was the very first to be devoted entirely to the game of baseball. It is widely collected for its beautiful chromolithographic cover; front pictures a game in progress, back cover features a well known image of the 1882 White Stockings with Anson and Kelly. Usually found tattered, this better than average copy has typical chipping but tight spine and bright colors, about Very Good condition...........SOLD Checks, money orders, or paypal accepted.
