Man Cave
Here's some photos of my man cave. I am only about 50% done with setting up my pieces on the wall. Need to take a weekend and get some frames. The TV is 103" HD. Pretty fun for football games.

Phil, that room of yours is outstanding! A true man cave and memorabiia room. Can you please tell me more about that TV? Brand, type, etc? I've not seen one that big that didnt have a seperate projector.

There is a separate projector, it is a Pioneer Elite HD projector. I didn't want a projector when I was shopping for something, but I was convinced when I saw it in person. Absolutely crystal clear HD for a projector. We purchased the entire system including the 7 leather recliners from a local audio/visual store. It was a great bargain since we did it back in 2009 when the economy was bad and nobody was purchasing these home theaters. The projector alone retail for $9000.00, but when we bought it as part of a package, they discounted the projector down to something like $3500.00. I couldn't be happier with the TV |

Incredible Leather Helmets! Some really rare ones, and the condition of each looks amazing. I can only imagine how long it took to find those fine examples.
Nice way to revive a great thread! |

Killer room
Absolutely Killer room Phil - can't imagine watching a football game in a better style than that! Love the early helmets - especially the raincap style.

Thanks for the info Phil. That's a killer system and you got it for a fantastic price. Heck, you didn't pay that much more than I did for my 50 inch TV 10 years ago. My only other question is...can I house sit for you when you're on vacation? Seriously though, please post some updated photos as you add stuff.

No new photos of the memorabilia room but should have some in a couple of months when I add some additional stuff to the Brooklyn Dodger wall. In the meantime, I thought I'd share another work in progress...the adjoining hallway which I've decided to add signed Sporting News and Sports Illustrated magazines (and a few other things) from my early years (late 60's and 70's) when I fell in love with Baseball. I still need to add a few things and touch up the wall/ceiling paint and crown molding, but here's what I have so far:

Thanks James. I thought it was time to find somewhere I could display a few of my many signed magazines. I have a wall already picked out in my home office room that will be for signed Yankee magazines. Of course, I have to save enough wall space for 4 team projects that I've been working on, but I think I'll have just enough space.

Great stuff Mike -- absolutely love all those iconic framed copies of SI and TSN. For whatever reason ( I guess because I remember it so well from my childhood), that Aaron 3,000th hit issue has always been my favorite SI cover.

Where is that one pictured? I looked twice and cannot spot it. I would love to see it, as I was at that game at Crosley Field, as a kid. I still remember it well. I also have a couple of original photos of Aaron getting that hit. It was a little seeing eye single up the middle. He had a bunch of extra base hits that day, but #3000 was a "cheapie". |

The 3000th hit Aaron SI is the one in orange where Aaron's pic is in the middle and the 3000 hit class are pictured around him

The Aaron is one of my favorites as well. Sometimes I don't want to show some of this stuff because it's not "vintage", but ya know, stuff like this is now 40 and 50 years old and that's not exactly "new". Sadly, some of these guys are either gone or getting very old, which of course, makes me feel very old but I really like to look at this stuff and remember what seemed to be a simpler time (although it probably wasn't). Now get off my lawn!!

Long Time Coming!
Ever since I have become a member of this forum I have been amazed at all the things that I have seen on here especially the Memorabila rooms. I will never have some of the things that I have seen, but I have finally finished my room for now. I have also finshed a website to display it all. I hope over the rest of my life I can to continue to add to it. Here is a link to the office pictures on my website and the link to the website where you can go to get close up's and descriptions of my collection. Once again thanks to all on this forum for your ideas.

Half of my collection room that focuses mostly on baseball. The other side is college
It contains a set for every year back to 1954, along with some memorabilia from teams I have worked for. Derek Jeter grew up just down the street from me so I have plenty of signed Jeter items. The notebook contains autographed pictures of every single person who played for the 1969 Chicago Cubs. Cut off in the top of the picture is a signed Mohammed Ali picture that I got in person. He lived not far from my home as well. In the open shelf are a Mantle and Mays rookie card, an Old Judge, signed balls from Jeter, Mickey Mantle and Ernie Banks. |
