I save a lot of odd varieties. 91 Topps does have a ton of them, plus Upper deck with different holograms, 93 Upper deck with different gloss patterns ....Stuff like that.
I used to buy big boxfuls of cards at the flea market. Mostly in the mid 90's when people were mad about the strike and bailing on cards. I've moved a lot of the commons, still have some. I would go through them and put aside cards of players I thought were good but maybe not great. The sort of guys who had maybe an outside shot at 3000 hits, 300 wins or 400 HR. I still have the boxful of those, interesting to see how they ended up. (Nearly none of them made it.) Steve B |
