Here is my favorite - the 1928 Pittsburgh Crawfords, featuring Josh Gibson (fifth from the left). This photo originates from the collection of Harold "Hooks" Tinker, the team's manager (third from the left).
This is the earliest image of Gibson during his playing days that I have ever seen. I have always wondered why Gibson's hat has an "H" on it while all of the others' have a "P." Gibson will not play for the Homestead Grays for another two years, so I do not think that it is. Any other ideas?
