			The man who came up with Ladies' Day was a former MLB player himself, Abner Powell.  He played for the Cincinnati Red Stockings, Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles from 1884-86.  He also came up with the idea for the rain check and the infield tarp.  A pretty innovative man.  Here's a run-down of those accomplishments in his own hand:
