BaseBall movies
Hey Al
I don't mean to be a "kiljoy"....but, I dismiss the validity of any BB Movie list that does not include The Stratton Story. This 1949 movie featuring Jimmy Stewart in the real life role of Chicago White Sox pitcher Monty Stratton (1934 - 1938), whose promising career was cut short by a hunting accident. It is an exceptional movie. I highly recommend it. The cast includes real BB players Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey, Gene Bearden, Jimmy Dykes, John Kerr, Wally Berger, "Peanuts" Lowery, Johnny Lindell, etc. Plus, there is a very interesting back-story regarding Jimmy Stewart's career regarding this movie.
