The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned rookie guard Bronny James to the South Bay Lakers, their G-League affiliate. He will reportedly be on L.A.’s roster Friday against the Sixers, but will join South Bay on Saturday, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. Bronny will likely only play home games for the South Bay Lakers and may regularly switch between the NBA and G-League rosters. The 20-year-old rookie has made four appearances for the Lakers this season, mostly in the last few minutes of blowout games. He’s averaging 1.0 point, 0.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game in 3.3 minutes.
