...if you are new at collecting, might I suggest you pick up Bob Lemke's SCD 2002 Catalog of Baseball Cards ... this is quite the tome for reasearching, getting a pretty good handle on item valuation, etc. It's a great investment and you'll be surprised how much you use it once you have it.
