I think it had a lot to do with the team he played for. The Washington Senators were for the most part, a pretty bad team during the years of 1909-1912 when many of these sets were released. Their players, Johnson included, weren't featured in many of these sets. Since so many "e" sets are between 30-50 cards, I think they wanted to take the more prominant players from the better teams in the league. |
