RIP: Rob Grill (lead singer of The Grass Roots)
Sadly Rob Grill, lead singer of one of the better pop bands of the late 60's/early 70's has passed. I had the pleasure of seeing Rob front the Grass Roots live twice on the "Happy Together" tour. Coincidentally I went to Westbury, L.I. to see the tour again this past Saturday and there was someone else fronting the Grass Roots. Apparently Rob was in a medically induced coma, and I just heard about his passing yesterday. For anyone who is a fan of 60's pop music...the Happy Together tour is quite a show.
Saturday's lineup featured: The Buckinghams The Grass Roots The Association Mark Lindsay (of Paul Revere & The Raiders fame) and of course The Turtles. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_16...-10391698.html
