When I buy collections I go through the boxes and pull out the stars and inserts. I blow out the commons at card shows. I can usually get $7 for a 3000 count box or $10 for a 5000 card box.
Some of the dealers will make some nice trades in exchange for boxes of commons. There is one dealer at the Madison, WI shows who will take all of the commons that I can bring with me and I trade them for vintage non-sports cards that I can put on ebay. Rick
