Default 1910s Signed Ty Cobb Folio (Maybe the Most Beautiful Signed Cobb Piece) SOLD

From what I know, these exceedingly rare folio displays were produced circa 1910-20 by Ty Cobb himself for use as special presentation gifts to friends. The photographic-booklet is designed as a folder that opens to reveal two photographic prints of Cobb (one in uniform, one in formal attire) that have each been individually mounted on brown parchment.

The cover of the folder reads “Souvenir Photos of Ty Cobb – The World’s Greatest Ball Player”. Cobb has autographed the piece, “Very Truly – Ty Cobb,” in black fountain pen, easily grading “9+”. The booklet is made from heavy handmade paper and measures 10x13 when open. Overall, the folio is in near-mint condition.

Rob Lifson once described these Cobb folios as one of the ultimate early Cobb-signed items. I believe there are only between 5-8 copies known to exist, and this one is believed to carry the nicest signature of all.

Folio comes with full LOAs from both PSA/DNA and JSA. Sold pending payment.
